About Authority Index Labs

Authority Index Labs is a Delaware C-Corporation building consumer platforms that put trustworthiness and reliability back into applications and AI. We choose industries where the dominant business model has eroded the credibility users need most — review platforms that sell visibility to the highest bidder, AI products that lock user identity inside their walled gardens, recommendation engines that optimize for engagement at the expense of accuracy.

Our products replace those models with structural commitments that cannot be reversed: user-controlled identity, verified-source review, and infrastructure the platform itself cannot manipulate. We believe trustworthy systems are not a feature; they are a structural choice.

Meriti

Restaurant Review Credibility, Restored.

Meriti takes the idea of restaurant reviews to the next level. It separates verified professional review from public opinion, enforces review integrity at the database level, and refuses to monetize visibility. A level playing field for independent restaurants.

Adam Steinman, MBA

Founder & CEO

Adam Steinman founded Authority Index Labs to put trustworthiness and reliability back into applications and AI — values he saw eroding firsthand across two industries he spent fifteen years inside.

Adam's career began on the line, with culinary training at The Culinary Institute of America. From the kitchen, he moved into corporate operations at CKE Restaurants, the parent company of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, where he led digital transformation initiatives across more than 3,000 restaurant locations and managed multi-million dollar technology portfolios. The work taught him a pattern that has shaped every role since: the most powerful technology is worthless if the people who actually use it — the line cook on his second shift, the operator running three locations, the executive making a strategic call — cannot make sense of it or trust what it tells them.

That pattern carried into a decade of customer experience leadership at the leading AI companies in foodservice: Valyant AI, ConverseNow AI, and Audivi. There, Adam built and scaled customer success organizations supporting enterprise deployments across hundreds of restaurant locations, with industry-leading retention rates. He watched the gap between AI's capability and AI's accessibility close every year. He also watched the gap between AI's confidence and AI's actual trustworthiness widen. AI products were getting smarter and easier to deploy, while the systems people relied on for credibility were getting noisier, less reliable, and less aligned with users' actual interests.

Authority Index Labs was founded to address that gap directly.

Our Approach

Structural Trust

We design for trustworthiness at the architectural level — in database constraints, in business model alignment, in the commitments we encode into the platform itself. Trust is not a marketing message; it is a property of the system.

User Control

Every user always knows what we know about them, and can change or remove it. Identity is not something we extract; it is something the user shares with us, on their terms.

Accessible Sophistication

We translate complex technology into experiences that work for everyone — the entry-level employee, the small business operator, the curious consumer. Power without accessibility is wasted.
